What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a type of cryptocurrency, operating independently of a central bank.

It is also a payment system that is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly, without a mediator.
Who invented it?
It was invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. He published the invention in 2008 and released it as open-source software the following year.
This currency is decentralized, which means that no one controls it. Bitcoins are not physical entities and are produced by people who use computers to solve mathematical problems (mining).
What is Cryptocurrency?
The most famous cryptocurrency was developed in 2009 by developer Satoshi Nakamoto.
The payments in the system are recorded in a public ledger using its own unit of account, which is also called cryptocurrency. Payments work peer-to-peer without a central repository or single administrator, which has led the US Treasury to call cryptocurrency a decentralized virtual currency. Although its status as a currency is disputed, media reports often refer as a cryptocurrency or digital currency.
